Canada Day Weekend Events In The Kitchener Waterloo Area - July 1st 2016

We are looking forward to celebrating Canada Day, especially with July 1st falling on a Friday this year! Hello Long Weekend!

Here are some events you can attend over the Canada Day Long Weekend. Be sure to check the links as times change and there are some costs for certain events.

Come celebrate Canada Day with Five Rings Taekwondo
Fun for the whole family which includes a petting zoo, pony rides, bouncy castles, carnival games (ticket purchase for activities is required, $2 each or 3 for $5) and prizes, BBQ, bake sale, raffles, Taekwondo demonstrations, free classes running all day.
All proceeds raised are to help fund our amazing Taekwondo competitive team represent Waterloo in future national tournaments, with potential for world championships and Pan/Am games.

Canada Day Steam Train Excursion
The train will be departing our Market station at 1:00pm for a round-trip to Elmira on Friday, July 1. The total trip time will be between 2 and 3 hours including the photo run past.
NOTE: Please listen to the volunteers and make sure to keep hold of your children. Those wearing sandals, flip flops or open toed shoes will be asked to stay on the train during the run past. If these rules are broken we reserve the right to call off the run past

Canada Day Celebration @ Waterloo Region Museum (DOON)
9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Waterloo Region Museum is throwing a party to celebrate Canada Day and you're invited! Admission is FREE.
Admission is FREE to the museum and the living history village for this fun family event including musical entertainment, fun games like croquet and horseshoes.
Join the Waterloo Region Museum's volunteer Heritage Singers in the Freeport Church for hymn singing from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.
Guests bring your own picnic lunch or purchase a tasty BBQ lunch.  Admission is FREE.

    Canada Day Celebration @ Kitchener Market
    Canada Day celebrations continue on Saturday at the Market!

    The piazza will be decorated for Canada Day! Come visit the Market booth. We'll be handing out 500 red and white Kitchener Market shopping bags to show our customers how much we appreciate them.

    There's lots happening outside our piazza!

    Ride your bike to the market and check it into our bicycle stand. Enjoy breakfast or lunch outside on our community tables with your family and friends. Our International Food Court Vendors are open from 7 a.m.-2 p.m.

    Play chess in the sunshine, enjoy live music, or get your face painted.

    There's something for the whole family!
